The result of the meeting was the establishing of the focal point of BGD project in Slovakia.

The Blue Green Dream project

works to enhance the synergy of urban blue (water) and green (vegetated) systems and provide effective, multifunctional Blue Green solutions to support urban adaptation to future climatic changes. It is a project under the European Institute of Innovation and Technology's Climate Knowledge and Innovation Community.

Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava hosted the meeting concerning the BGD - Blue Green dream project on 20th February 2014, which was initiated by prof.Cedo Maksimovic from Imperial College London. The meeting was organized by Department of Sanitary & Environmental Engineering of the Faculty of Civil Engineering. Meeting participated several representatives from practice:
Water research institute in Bratislava, Slovak Watermanagement Company, Ministry of Health of SR, GWP Slovakia, NGO People and water, Association of water treatment experts of SR, Slovak National Committee of IWA, Faculty of Architecture STU, representatives of departments: Hydraulic Engineering, Land and Water Resources Management, Sanitary and Environmental Engineering, Building Services, Architecture of FoCE, Transportation Engineering and others.
Meeting was attended by vice-rector prof. Ing. Stanislav Biskupič, DrSc, who on behalf of rector prof. Ing. Robert Redhammer, PhD. opened the meeting and positively evaluated the BGD project performance on the STU area.

The Faculty of Civil Engineering was represented by prof. Ing. Jan Szolgay, PhD., first deputy dean, vice-dean for scientific, research and international relations. The meeting was supported by several contributions, whose aim was to present the activities of that area in Slovakia.
The meeting in addition to the presentation of the project itself was the establishment of contact for Slovakia of the BGD project in terms of organization and integrate ideas for the project and contribute not only to the European and global trends understanding the synergy of water and greenery, but in a wider concept to develop professional and scientific cooperation e.g. even under the current scientific-research framework program Horizon 2020.
At the end of the meeting, plenary proposed and by supported of prof. Cedo Maximovic approved the local project coordinator of BGD project,  assoc.prof. Stefan Stanko, PhD. (Department of Sanitary and Environmental Engineering Faculty of Civil Engineering in Bratislava)
